Synopsis
Growing up in Porpoise Spit, Australia sucks. Murie (Toni Collette), a hopeless romantic ABBA fan and compulsive liar, moves to Sydney with her new friend Rhonda (Rachel Griffiths).

Synopsis
Lawyer Gavin Banek (Ben Affleck) gets in a car accident with Doyle Gipson (Samuel Jackson). Instead of doing the right thing, he hastily drives off, forgetting an important files folder. With Doyle in possession of the folder, the two men begin a morally questionable game of blackmail, largely as an outlet for intense pressures in their personal lives.

It took me a while to get into In Her Shoes because I assumed it was a romantic comedy. What humor it has is on the dejected side. But it has a confident stride as a drama / chick flick.
Bookish workaholic Rose Feller (Toni Collette), unlucky in love and constantly feeling frumpy, has a sexy yet irresponsible sister, Maggie (Cameron Diaz) who crashes at Rose’s apartment and screws up everything (literally, the boyfriend). Booted from Rose’s apartment, Maggie moves in with her disenfranchised grandmother Ella (Shirley MacLaine) at a retirement community.

Finally got off our duffs and saw a current movie. Little Miss Sunshine is 1/4 sincere feel-good and 3/4 black comedy, which results in a pretty decent date flick.
