Synopsis
Bored with her day job, Julie Powell (Amy Adams) starts a blog (which still exists) documenting her experience cooking every recipe in Julia Child’s cook book Mastering The Art Of French Cooking. The film also shows how Julia Child (Meryl Streep) began writing said cookbook while living in Paris.
Synopsis
The earth’s core stops spinning, leading to a breakdown of the magnetic field, threatening to destroy humanity. A crack squad of scientists join with the military to drive straight down into the planet and save everyone.
Big Night — seemingly yet another indie-food film in the vein of Chocolat, Eat Drink Man Woman, Tampopo — has some additional things going for it: some great casting and a core relationship of two Italian immigrant brothers, Primo (Tony Shalhoub) and Secondo (Stanley Tucci), owners of a struggling restaurant in 1950s America.
