Over the weekend my wife’s work required the purchase of a new iPod Nano and iPod Classic so I got a chance to ogle both.

Yet another Apple event next week Wednesday, September 5th. The invite leaves no doubt this is an iPod / music related announcement.

Over the past month rumors have floated around the Internet regarding “fat” iPod Nanos, full screen iPods, iPods that run OS X, and the Beatles in the iTunes music store, and along with it a yellow iPod to match (undoubtedly a “Yellow Submarine” reference).

Over the weekend some “spy” photos of the new iPod Nano surfaced. They come in several colors and look a bit odd - basically smaller and wide, rather like Nintendo made them. Check out a photo over at Paris Lemon. The larger photograph I’ve seen has these new Nanos arranged in a flower shape reminiscent of the ads for fruit colored iMacs.
