Older and facing an arranged marriage, Alice (Mia Wasilkowska) returns to Underland (turns out she heard it wrong the first time), home of the Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp) and the Red Queen (Helena Bonham Carter).
Synopsis
Lenny (Woody Allen) and Amanda (Helena Bonham Carter) adopt a particularly bright child and name him Max. Curious where he got his smarts, Lenny investigates Max’s true parentage and finds his birth mother is a blonde, doltish porn star, Linda Ash (Mia Sorvino).
This film is pretty amazing in terms on animation, and somewhat makes up for an odd, lacking feeling in both plot and music. I have to give Burton credit for making death and creepy characters children’s fare, but this particular outing feels a bit like a repeat of previous dusty stuff.
