The Da Vinci Code

Just saw The Da Vinci Code; it was decent, though a bit dull in many places. Tom Hanks unfortunately looked tired the whole time, and there’s technically a limit to how exciting a movie can be made from long lectures on religious symbology and fiddling with anagrams in the characters’ heads.

MacBook Ordered, Patiently Waiting

Bit the bullet and ordered the white base model MacBook. Apple sure sends a lot of confirmation emails. So now I’m guessing it won’t arrive in my eager hands until Monday. Now I’ve got the FedEx tracking number and can follow its progress.

Apple Store: 5th Ave. New York Cube

Steve Jobs has a thing for cubes. The NeXT computer (big black cube), the Cube Macintosh (small cube), now the Apple Store in New York has a huge glass cube. Check out this video showing the unveiling of this puppy. So where’s the cube mouse?

MacBook Impressions At The Apple Store

Apple finally announced the MacBook, which I took peek at in the SF Apple Store during a work errand. It’s definitely a slick machine. The glossy screen and magnetic latch eliminate any protusions so the machine is left with a smooth, lipstick-mirror feel.

Music Notes: Chaos and Creation in the Backyard

A year late (once again) I picked up Chaos and Creation in the Backyard, Paul McCartney’s latest album. Produced by Nigel Godrich (Radiohead, Beck), the result is noticeably darker, serious, melodically oriented, with many atypical chords and lyrical subject matter.
