iPod Withdrawl

So late last week, I did a simple thing, which was forget my iPod Video at work. Then the next day, I forgot my earphones at home, and as a result I went three days without my iPod during my daily commute. Generally, I listen to it both to and from work via Muni and CalTrain, listening to music or podcasts.

Maybe I’m overly immersed in art history at the moment, as Sonic Youth sounds to me the aural equivalent of Pollock painting: random, messy, seemingly inept, but on closer examination multilayered, crafty, and poetic. I’m not really a fan of their noisy, atonal garage band ethic but I can certainly appreciate it.

Back in the day I worked for two startups, and I’ve come across both of their founders’ names attached to new projects. The first is Martin Eberhard who started NuvoMedia, makers of the Rocket eBook. They were acquired along with SoftBook Press, so I got to work with a bunch of NuvoMedia folks.

YouTube Break: Shoes

Yeah, so pretty much every other day I receive a link to some crazy video posted on YouTube, so I figure I’ll stick them on this blog. Today it’s “Shoes“. It starts out pretty slow, but gets better as it goes along. I think I’ve watched it four or five times now and keep noticing more random touches that are pretty funny, like the Bush photo behind the parents and the purple suited guy at the pool party. But the point is the shoes.
