iPhone Troubleshooting: Unreadable File Error in iPhoto

August 30th, 2008

AppleI recently ran into a pretty annoying situation with the iPhone. Normally, it’s a breeze importing photos taken on the iPhone using iPhoto. But somewhere, iPhoto got stuck on one photo in particular, saying it was “unreadable.” Problem was, any photo taken after that one, iPhoto refused to import.

Elite Tech News Podcast #19

August 27th, 2008

TechnologyI think a week was missed here and there, but another Elite Tech News Podcast was recorded this past weekend. Participating in this one was Mark “Rizzin” Hopkins, Art Lindsey, Steven Hodson and myself. It had been a while since I did one of these, and we didn’t have too many tech stories to cover, so the episode is a bit more rambling and relaxed than usual.

Upgraded to Disqus 2.0.1

August 22nd, 2008

TechnologyI just installed Disqus 2.0.1 on this blog - I decided to be fashionably late on this one because I had 4,000+ comments that needed to be imported into Disqus and it seemed there were some bugs with the initial 2.0 release.

Digital Cheapskates Explained: Mad Men And iTunes

August 20th, 2008

AppleRight now I have a “problem.” I have season 1, disc 1 of Mad Men lined up in my Netflix queue. It’s marked with “Very Long Wait” and hasn’t yet arrived.

Meanwhile, the entire first season (13 episodes) is available in iTunes for $19.99.

Of course, I could always Bit Torrent the whole shebang and get it relatively soon, for free.

Apple 3G iPhone Issues: Finger Pointing

August 19th, 2008

AppleThe iPhone 3G still has issues. As I write this, the two biggest bugaboos are MobileMe and wimpy 3G reception.

Chuqui 3.0 (former Apple employee) posted two insightful (and juicy) rumors as to what’s going an at Apple regarding to these two issues:
