MacBook, DI-614+ Dropouts Resolved

I’d been having issues with random dropped conntections and having to reset Airport on every wake from sleep, and I think I have them more or less figured out. In the DI-614+, go to the Advanced tab and click on Performance.

Playstation 2 Newbie

Another toy I got recently was a PlayStation 2 (slim). Anyhow, I haven’t owned a console for years and as such I’m totally inept at games and have no idea what to buy. I did get some recommendations from people and have narrowed it down to a few. I’ll post some more extensive reviews of these games as I work my way through them.

MySpace Newbie

Upon showing a neighbor Bottle Cap-O-Rama, his first comment was to promote it on MySpace. So earlier this week I signed up for an account, and got a brutal introduction to the strangeness contained therein. Yes, I know it’s been around for quite some time, but I always thought of it as a website for the 25 and under crowd.

Server Down, Day Off

Yesterday afternoon the server that hosts my web sites went down, due to what was most likely a hard drive failure. All the data looks like it was restored just fine. So no big deal, but just yet another realization that despite the flash of technology, web sites are stored on physical objects that fail regularly. I think I’ll back up my hard drives today.

Google Spreadsheet: First Look

I got a response from Google Spreadsheet and have spent about 10 minutes poking around in it. First off, I’m impressed by what can be done in a browser these days (Firefox) in that I can hardly tell it’s not a desktop application.
