A mutual editor/friend got Jason and I in touch with each other. He wants a vacation; I want to be his guest blogger for a day. And we each think the other’s blog is just swell. But would it work? He’s a Mac, I’m a PC. He blogs solely about technology and entertainment. I mainly blog about politics and society. But we have one thing in common that trumps all other differences: we are both cat people.

Just in case you didn’t know, cats rule the blogosphere. Yes, they are utter snobs and they lick themselves, and we cannot get enough of them.

So I’m playing around with RSS feeds, Yahoo! Pipes, and Google Reader. There’s a pretty neat way to share items that one finds noteworthy. And what better way to put all this experimenting into practice than via MyCatBlogLog.

Here’s a link to my shared Google Reader items, which features links to news about cats. I’ll update this stuff daily as I cull through news feeds finding the best cat stuff. Likewise, these items are mirrored on MyCatBlogLog.

Okay, I can’t keep this under wraps any longer.

After the end of 2000 bloggers I was sort of mulling about a way to form a network without having the link thing be a problem on Technorati. One solution, suggested by //engtech was to do it in Flash. I decided to do a silly page featuring all the MyBlogLog bloggers with cat avatars.
