I haven’t mentioned my bottle cap collection over at Bottle Cap-O-Rama in a while, so an update is in order. At this point, I’m up to 1700 plus bottle caps, but in terms of scanning and updating the database, I’m behind so the site shows about 1650 bottle caps.

Part of the reason why I started blogging like crazy on Webomatica back in the middle of last year was because the traffic to my bottle cap site was pretty decent, and this blog was looking like a ghost town. Well, that problem has been alleviated - but the places have been switched. My bottle cap site at Bottle Cap-O-Rama has had pretty stagnant traffic for quite some time.

I’ve been meaning to write this post for quite some time. Over the past year of collecting bottle caps (check out my site, Bottle Cap-O-Rama), I’ve voluntarily drank many unique bottled beverages. Check out this list of “Missing MyBlogLog Tools” at SoloSEO. I found this site via Cornwallseo.com. These tools let you compare who’s in your community with another, find common members or uncommon members (helping you identify potential new members who might be interested in your blog), find who’s in your community that isn’t listed as a contact (so you can add them), and list more past visitors than just ten.

Earlier this year I posted some predictions that if came to pass, would indicate a new internet boom would soon be upon us: 1) YouTube sells for over $1 billion. 2) The Federal reserve stops raising interest rates. 3) The Democrats win the midterm elections. All of them came true, so I guess it’s boom time, baby!

A few assorted bottle cap related news from Vegas:

1. A Brazillian beer bottle cap from a restaurant in the Mirage.

2. There is a Coca-Cola store on the strip. I picked up two magnets, one of a classic, retro Coca-Cola six pack, and another showing the history of the bottles. A side effect of my bottle cap collection is a growing glass bottle collection as well.

One of my personal goals for this year was to get up to 1000 unique bottle caps in my collection. Thanks to a generous donation from Pedro and Judy (about 200-300 bottle caps) the collection that goal is behind me. I’m on vacation all of next week, so I’m using the time to get this tremendous backlog of bottle caps scanned in and added to the Bottle Cap-O-Rama website.

Events at my other site, Bottle Cap-O-Rama, are going dandy. I just received a donation package of about 250+ unique bottle caps. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it turns out the vast majority are unused and unique to my collection. This is serious pay dirt! This puts the bottle cap collection at well over my year-end goal of 1,000 unique bottle caps.

I just received eight bottle caps in the mail, from France. It was a trade for six Drake’s Brewing bottle caps, one bottle label, and the six-pack carton. With these eight bottle caps, Bottle Cap-O-Rama now has over 800 unique caps!
