In retrospect, I feel seasons 1 and 2 and the first half of season 3 were the strongest. It seems each season finale mixed things up with a nutty situation which the writers tried to remedy next season. This strategy worked well for seasons 1 and 2 but the mess made at the end of season 3 (Final Five, Bob Dylan, Baltar survives his trial) was a tall order to explain. Still, the second half of season 4 provided a reasonably satisfying conclusion – there’s just no explaining Bob Dylan.

Synopsis
Raptors and raiders return as the tentative truce continues. The Final Five combine their knowledge in order to provide the resurrection technology to the Cylons. Tory becomes nervous upon realizing Chief will therefore learn that she killed Callie. As the download begins, Chief goes nuts and snaps Tory’s neck. The cylons call it a trick and open fire. Cavil says “frak this,” and shoots himself in the head.

Synopsis
Flashbacks galore: Tigh and Adama get totally wasted in a strip club. Over drinks, Zak and Starbuck poke fun at Lee’s desire for something larger and bad relationship with his father. Roslin entertains a date, who turns out to be a former pupil. Adama, looking like hell, throws up on himself, and smiles as he looks up at the stars.

As the Galactica repairs continue, Ellen believes Hera has been taken to the Colony. Starbuck explains to Admiral Adama, Lee, and the Final Five that Hera gave her notes to the song that activated the Final Five, and advocates a rescue. Admiral Adama says he has had it with prophecies.

A sad piano tune plays as pilots prepare for their routine daily mission searching for habitable planets. After updating Lee, Roslin, Caprica Six, and Admiral Adama about the continuing repairs to Galactica, Chief is disturbed to learn the Cylons plan to try Boomer for treason.

Synopsis
Chief shows Adama the Cylon goo used to repair Galactica. A raptor arrives on Galactica with Boomer and Ellen – the last of the final five – aboard. Adama puts Boomer in the brig. Tigh is very happy to be reunited with his long-lost wife.

Flashback to Saul poisoning Ellen back on New Caprica. She awakens in a resurrection tank on a base star. At first she is disturbed by the knowledge that she is a Cylon, but then seems to come to terms with it, likely because the memories of her true nature come flowing back to her. She asks a toaster centurion to help her out of the pool.
