Best Buy allowed an exchange of the dead Blu-Ray player for a new monitor, a Samsung 23″ widescreen. I was planning to replace the existing 19″ Samsung, until I remembered: our 2009 Mac Mini can drive two monitors.

I’ve had a Magic Mouse for a few months now, and while I generally like it, I may have happened upon one downside: poor battery life. After the last pair of AAs died, I made a note of the replacement date so I could track how long they lasted upon the next battery change. Well, I just swapped out a new pair, and the length of time: six weeks.

After feeling slightly “meh” about the iPad, I watched the special event, and am feeling a bit better about the whole thing, even if I’m not chomping at the bit to get one. It struck me that there are several types of people for whom that the iPad is perfectly suited for, and the iPad will shine in a myriad of situations where a traditional computer is overkill.

Oh yeah. This is awesome news. I use the iPhone app Crosswords nearly every day during my commute, and was just thinking this morning; how sweet would it be to play that game on a larger screen – like on the Apple Tablet surely arriving tomorrow.
