The Pain Of Apple Patents
So over at Apple Insider we have yet another intriguing Apple patent using fricking lasers to create a virtual keyboard.
Over the years, I’ve read patents of this nature documenting anything from a 3D OS X UI to an iMac that you insert an iDevice into, and the vast majority has never appeared publicly. And based on what Apple products were released in 2012, I doubt an iPhone 5S / 6 with a virtual keyboard will see the light of day in 2013.
Yeah, Apple doesn’t release stuff until it’s ready, or if they’re absolutely sure it’ll meet customers’ needs and make money. But somewhere along that road, the iPhone’s claim to being the most advanced phone that was generations ahead of the competition fell by the wayside…
