Never Mind iPhone 4S, Steve’s Sweater Sold Out

iPhone 4S orders supposedly cleared an even million in the first day, blowing away records. But never mind that — in an effort to claim a little something insanely Steve in his perpetual absence, his trademark black cashmere St. Croix sweater is selling out, too.

The Minnesota clothing company, known for hand-crafted quality, has a tribute message to Steve on their website, plus a note that they’re temporarily out of stock of Steve’s favorite black mock, style 1990. But they’re still taking orders, and will donate $20 per order toward the fight against cancer.

Despite the temptation, I gotta say I’m not totally sure about dropping $175 for a sweater, particularly when the new iPod Nano is $129. And I gotta start saving up for all the translucent, voice controlled, transforming hardware Steve pre-planned for the next four years.

Addendum: Don’t place that order. Maybe it’s not Steve’s favorite sweater.
