Cat got hold of the iPhone earbuds again, bit through the cord revealing the wire, rendering them useless. This being the third or fourth pair lost to felines. Same critter chomped the iPhone 3G a while back, leaving fang marks in the rounded plastic.
Aluminum is also prone to injury. iPad slid off the couch and hit the hardwood floor, and presumably something else, as there are now two small dents in the edge. Used a nail file to smooth out the rough edges.
Every purchased Apple product goes through an initial stage where I try to protect it from any blemish, but it’s usually all for naught — damage inevitably occurs. The subsequent stage is throwing of hands in the air with resigned acceptance of the impermanence of material possessions.
The final stage is buying the next model to replace the dented old one. I would never blame the cats.
