Meme: Tweeting Icons
I’ve found Mad Men-character tweeting fairly entertaining, now we have tweeting icons. All due to the goofy-at-first-glance iTunes 10 icon consisting of music notes, sans-CD, with a silver ring. But it’s growing on me already, once I noticed its similarity to the iPhone’s iTunes app icon.
Anyhow, the point: the iTunes 10 icon is on Twitter, letting everyone know how things are, with a smug attitude of new-found power and awareness of general disgust directed in its general direction, via observations like: “It’s not my fault you keep trying to import DRMd WMA and OGG files into me. Who the fuck uses those anyway?” and “Everyone’s so quick to judge me. I don’t judge you and that shitty, hipster music you listen to.” Like a mini-me fake Steve Jobs.
And now the imitators are piling on, we’ve got iTunes 9, iTunes 2, and iTunes 1, and the Windows 95 icon (Microsoft late to the party, as usual). Like domain name farming, stake your claim today. Where’s the Handbrake inebriated pineapple?
I’m just waiting for the Adobe CS5 icons to start tweeting; have had a few bones to pick with them for years, now.
