I Have A Really Hard Time Tossing Apple Product Boxes

Hopefully I’m not alone in this regard.
During some pre-spring cleaning, decided to toss out some old Apple product boxes I’ve had lying around. iPhone 3G, iPod Nano, and a Mac Mini packaging. With the first one, it’s obvious this box has been in my possession for over two years. Haven’t touched it since that initial unboxing, so there’s really no sane reason why I kept it around for so long — not planning on reselling or putting the iPhone away in storage or anything. It’s just been taking up space in the closet.
Perhaps some of this has to do with the excellent design of these boxes; the product is showcased and the manuals and stuff are beneath, making the whole unboxing into a sequential experience. They’re so well designed, Jobs has a patent on the iPod Nano box I just tossed. Crap, now I’m feeling guilty.
But in any case — they’re just frigging boxes. I don’t know why I keep them for so long. Or take pictures of them, or write blog posts about them, for that matter.
Wednesday can’t come soon enough — I might get another cardboard box.
