AT&T’s Video Explaining Network Issues And MMS
This dude is named Seth and he’s a blogger who works for AT&T. He explains their network issues and upcoming MMS for the iPhone.
For what it’s worth, here’s AT&T’s take:
- Dramatic increase in smartphones, creating a 300% per year increase in data usage.
- MMS requires radios in towers to be calibrated. It’s a “time consuming process.”
- MMS arrives September 25.
- Long explanation of how cellphones work. Cell frequencies like highway lanes.
- Mobile data puts “geometrically more pressure” on the network.
- In the past 2 years they’ve invested billions of dollars to expand their network.
- We have heard you, we are on it, and we will use this hard-won experience to lead the industry into the future.
Well, it’s cool to see AT&T doing some outreach, but I still find this article a lot more interesting and impressive. Can we get a video where Seth the Blogger explains how Netflix stuffs all those envelopes?
