Action game where you help Nerdman the geek biologist collect eyeballs by shooting alien green glob creatures.

The Good

Cool, cartoony graphics that look kind of like Space Ace meets The Awful Green Things From Outerspace. Bouncing eyeballs are funny, as is your hero walking around with an alien goo blob on his head.
Two laser guns, a more traditional pistol and one that shoot really unusual glowing green goo, that pools and rolls around the terrain. Almost worth the price of admission right there.

The Bad

Touchy, frustrating controls. While the set up is cool, with movement on a left d-pad and firing in all directions via a d-pad on the right, I found it difficult to move Nerdman and navigate the rocky planet terrain with confidence, especially when jumping from platform to platform. And this is one of those games where one missed jump means instant death as your hero plummets to his doom.

Conclusion

Globs has potential, but needs tweaking to get it beyond frustration and to a game I’d actually want to play regularly. For the fun graphic’s sake, I hope this happens via a future update.
