Actually the Infomercial business is about as cut-throat as it gets. They will run a test of a new product for a weekend and if it doesn’t show good promise you will never see it again. If you see it again it means it is working and all the competitors will start putting together their own version immediately.

The Christian Bale & Kermit the Frog comparison thingy has been circulating for a few months but you can bet that the controversy of Bale’s meltdown has certainly upped the site’s hits into overdrive.

Sadly I don’t think the snuggie will be the last gasp of consumerism

I do find it hilarious though. It’s basically a blanket muumuu. If you think about it (I realize I shouldn’t think about it), it really appeals to 2 core values: Couch Potato Culture (the commercials I see on Youtube always show people lounging on the sofa with the thing) and Obesity (nobody can see how large you are when you’re wearing this ridiculously huge fleece poncho).

Anyway, I’m much too busy enjoying my “Samurai Peeler” to worry about such nonsense ;-P
