Solid Earnings: Netflix, Apple, Google

January 26th, 2009

Pretty much all the big tech names have announced earnings, and three of the companies I continue to patronize and therefore admire did really well: Netflix, Apple, and Google.

I’d just like to mention all three were on my personal list of the Best of Technology for 2008.

This is not to toot my own horn and demonstrate awesome tech prognostication on my part. Instead, I’m just an example of an average guy who loves products that do what they claim to expertly, and at a fair price. Another commonality between these three companies are easy-to-use products without all the BS I just don’t have time to put up with. My iPhones and Macs just work. The Netflix Roku box is has even better usability than the Apple TV, and it provides a crap load of movies for a low monthly price. Google has numerous apps available for free — I use GMail, Google Reader, and Chrome (on my work PC) every day. All of this value is much appreciated during a recession.

Obviously there are millions of other happy customers just like me, keeping these three companies afloat while the rest of them flounder. Happy customers are key to a strong business; imagine that.
