Movie Notes: Whipped

= 1 star
Starring Amanda Peet, Brian Van Holt, Judah Domke
Directed by Peter M. Cohen
Synopsis
Three sexist males who brag about the women they’ve bagged, end up falling for the same woman, Mia (Amanda Peet). Hilarity ensues.
The Good
- I suppose when one realizes the three protagonists are jerks, there’s some good old “schaufenrude” at seeing these ridiculous individuals humiliated by a strong, confident woman.
The Bad
- Extremely crude, raunchy sex dialogue and distasteful scenes: vibrator retrieval from a toilet filled with urine.
- No likable characters. Pretty much everyone is set up to be an asshole, or a douchebag, or both simultaneously. It wears thin as we soon realize these guys are very one dimensional characters.
- The premise of a woman dating three doltish men simultaneously plays out as expected, as the men stupidly fail to contemplate why Mia would ever tolerate this silly situation. The answer turns out to be rather obvious and mean-spirited, and ultimately the easy, lazy way out.
Conclusion
Somehow, by not being as much scum, Amanda Peet as an actress emerges relatively unscathed. There’s a sad sort of justice in that, but absolutely no reason to see Whipped. Skip it.

vibrator retrieval from a toilet filled with urine: desperate and crude. Peet doesn't float my boat either.
I wonder why these movies stick to the theme of “three”. Like Mamma Mia also has three guys having a relationship with one woman and there are other films as well that focuses on that. Oh well.. thanks for the heads-up. I will likely skip that movie.
