Starring Jason Biggs, Ilsa Fisher
Directed by Michael Ian Black
Synopsis
Anderson (Jason Biggs) is proposing to his girlfriend in a restaurant, when she suddenly dies. Dejected, he mockingly proposes to a cute waitress Katie (Ilsa Fisher). Unbeknown to him, she is currently in a bad relationship and therefore agrees to marry Anderson – a complete stranger.
The Good
- Bits of comic gems – the turd with candy, an dancing orthodontist, circus freaks, and a “sex panther.” I’ll admit to laughing out loud a few times.
- Biggs and Fisher have a goofy energy that’s hard to dislike. My wife said it best – “they look so cute together; too bad their characters are total idiots.”
The Bad
- Really stupid premise and overall, totally predictable. The only entertainment is in the totally random crap that provides a bit of surreal amusement.
Conclusion
Largely, another retarded and woefully predictable cookie cutter romantic comedy, with some energetic performances and some surreal humor and situations. Still, my limited amusement was likely due to low expectations. Well, make that extremely low. Skip it.
