Interesting: How I Spent My Stimulus

Here’s a site worth poking around on: How I Spent My Stimulus (check). Pretty much every tax-paying American is getting about $600 bucks from the federal government to spend as they please. The site has pictures and short anecdotes from people of all walks of life describing what they spent their money on and why.

Each short post is categorized by what the money went toward, so through a cursory glance, we can see what most people using their checks for:

1. Travel & Vacation (99)
2. Vehicle & Gas (91)
3. Other (89)
4. Debt / Credit Card (78)
5. Home & Garden (70)
6. Invest / Savings (59)

Rather mixed, but it seems the economy hasn’t totally gone off the rails, as a lot of folks are still travelling. Still, the high number for “vehicle and gas” does imply a lot of folks are dealing with the higher gas prices.

Then, there’s the “Weird” section. My favorites: Second Life, Transformers, sex toys, Terminator 2 video game, and tattoos.

As for us? We still haven’t received ours. But I already know what part of it will be used for.
