Battlestar Galactica: Revelations Tomorrow, It Should Be A Doozy

June 12th, 2008

Tomorrow night is Revelations, the last episode of the first half of Season 4 – true to Battlestar Galactica form, this episode should be a “mid season cliff-hanger,” and based how things have developed so far, a lot can happen – and probably will.

Aint It Cool got to see this last episode and it sounds awesome: the biggest episode ever, more important than Kobol’s Last Gleaming (2) (Boomer shoots Adama), Lay Down Your Burdens (2) (Cylons take over New Caprica), and Crossroads Part 2 (the Final Four are revealed). Ed Olmos (Adama) and Aaron Douglas (Chief) cried when they read the script.

The situation so far: It’s unclear exactly where the loyalties of the Final Four lie. Tory is unquestionably the furthest along in regards to her Cylon nature, while Tigh struggles to maintain his human duties. Chief is a potential loose cannon (still reeling from Callie’s death), and Anders is an enigma. All four will have to choose sides now that Number Three has been unboxed, and she knows the identity of the Final Five.

So it’s a given there will be hell to pay as Adama and Roslin realize they’ve lost command of the fleet to Tigh and Lee – the first being a Cylon and the second someone Roslin completely mistrusts. I expect a power struggle over the Cylons and the journey to earth, and the fleet will be divided. Some will actually make it to earth – but won’t be happy with what they find there, leading them to question all the choices they made – loyalties shattered, and relationships severed – to achieve this now tragic goal.

Then toss in all the wild cards – Tigh’s impending fatherhood, Baltar’s nutty followers, Roslin near death, and Starbuck’s pickle of involvement with Anders and Leoben (both Cylons) and anything could happen.

Here’s a promo and a brief “sneak peek” of this episode.

Update: If you want to check out the episode early, it will stream every hour on the hour on the Scifi.com website, all day Friday.

  • I haven't been this excited since watching the last episode of Blake's 7 when I was a kid! Dog only knows what I'll be like when the proper finale comes along.
  • Yep I'm excited too. I think this show will deliver - they've hopefully been
building up to *something* all season.
