Battlestar Galactica: Valley Of Darkness
Synopsis
Due to the computer network hacking in Scattered, a Cylon computer virus has infiltrated the Galactica, causing a power outage. Several “toaster” model Cylons have boarded the Galactica, via a “heavy raider.” Lee is almost killed by one but an explosive round takes the toaster out.
Lee finds Billy, Roslin, and several guards in the brig and tells them to go to the sick bay. He decides to lead a small team to a small arms locker to get more explosive rounds. Tigh believes the Cylons plan to vent the crew into space and then turn the guns on the rest of the fleet. It’s difficult to keep tabs on the Cylons with the power out.
Lee and his party wait at AFT damage control for the Cylons. The Cylons nearly slaughter Roslin and her party, but Lee and his group take out the Cylons just in time.
On Kobol, Baltar dreams that he’s holding a baby, when Adama arrives with a landing party. Adama takes the baby and drowns it in a river. Baltar awakes and Head Six says that mankind’s true nature of violence will happen again.
Chief and Callie return from the crash site with medical supplies, but without Tarn who was killed by Cylons. Seelix administers the meds to Socinus but it’s too late to save him.
On Caprica, Starbuck and Helo visit her abandoned home. It’s a mess and decorated with crazy paintings. Starbuck reminisces how she never had much to live for before the attack on Caprica. She smokes a cigar and listens to some music. Later, Helo and Starbuck drive off in a jeep.
Thoughts
Baltar dreams of a Cylon baby that he thinks is his and Six’s, while an actual Cylon hybrid baby is carried by Sharon. The Cylons may be prepping Baltar to protect Sharon’s hybrid child when it arrives on the fleet, later this season.
Because Crashdown wanted to rush off without gathering all the supplies, both Socinus and Tarn died. His incompetence as a leader will soon come to head, and a rebellion - as will Tigh’s.
For some reason I was struck by Helo’s general incompetence the whole time he and Sharon were on Caprica during season one. I’m sure they could have looted several locations in Caprica and commandeered vehicles and weapons.
