Battlestar Galactica: Season 4

This Friday is the first episode of Battlestar Galactica Season 4. It’s the last season “evar,” so it’s finally time to deliver the goods.

This is what I hope to see during this final season:

  • Earth. Reach frakking earth and have an awesome surprise waiting there.
  • Reveal the last of the “final five” Cylons and have it be someone important.
  • Explain once and for all what the heck is up with Baltar and Head Six. Is he a Cylon? Is she an implant?
  • Quasi-religious stuff where the hybrid babies become all powerful god like beings.
  • All-out war. I’ve read rumors of a toaster rebellion. That’s cool if it involves some seriously apocalyptic space battles, like fifty basestars laying waste to thirty Battlestars.
  • Fatalistic dark stuff. Let’s see a main character bumped off every episode so just Lee Adama and a rowboat remains.
  • Mind-bending flip-arounds like the season two finale. If only for fat Adama and the mustache.

What I do not want to see:

  • Commander Adama hooking up with Roslin.
  • Commander Adama hooking up with anyone, for that matter.
  • The Cylons teaming up with the humans in order to find Earth.
  • Soap opera love-stuff. The Lee-Starbuck-Anders-Dualla thing in Season 3 was a thumbs down.
  • Boxing.

Let’s recap: Who are the Cylons that resemble humans?

  • Number 6 appears in Baltar’s head and had other guises such as Shelly Godfrey and on the Pegasus.
  • Number 3 “Diana Beers”
  • Number 5 “Aaron Doral” model.
  • Brother Cavil.
  • Leoben, who first appeared on a space station in the miniseries and later was blasted out an airlock, and also tortured Starbuck on New Caprica.
  • Simon, a doctor who first appeared on Caprica when Starbuck was captured in “The Farm”.
  • Number 8 Sharon / Boomer was on both Caprica and the Galactica. Caprica Sharon had a baby “Hera” with Helo.

That’s seven human-esque Cylons. Next comes the “final five,” four of whom were revealed at the end of Season 3: Tigh, Anders, Tyrol (Chief), and Tory. That’s eleven Cylons with the last one to be revealed during Season 4. This Cylon’s identity is a big reason to watch Season 4. One clue that emerged a few months ago was this “Last Supper” type photograph in Entertainment Weekly. The prevailing thought is the last Cylon does not appear in the photograph. I find this a bit disappointing as all the major characters are shown.

I also have several Battlestar Galactica videos to share with you:
