Random Webomatica Adjustments

February 20th, 2008

Added a few things - mostly behind the scenes - on this blog:

  • Added Gravatars to the comments. These are little icons that represent individuals across different blogs. If you don’t have one, visit Gravatar.com. They’re owned by the same company that makes WordPress. The plug in I’m using is called Gravatars2 which you can get at Zenpax. It supports image caching.
  • Installed WP Super Cache which is a souped up version of WP Cache.
  • Added some styles to create borders around images with CSS. No idea why I didn’t do this earlier.
  • Embedded as many YouTube movie trailers as I could find, for the movie reviews. I’d say the James Bond ones are the most amusing.
  • Will update as many movie and television images to 500 px wide.

That’s about it for now.

Nice updates! I’m a fan of the whole Internet-wide avatar idea, so it’s good to see more and more sites supporting it lately.
