Geek Test: New Star Trek Movie Trailer
There’s a teaser trailer for “Star Trek XI” attached to Cloverfield. As a long time Trek fan, the trailer hits a few good notes: the Enterprise being built as a visual metaphor for the movie trying to rebuild the franchise after several years, and tugging on those heart strings with Spock and some iconic lines.
It remains to be seen if the all new, younger cast can relive the Trek feeling and they are nowhere to be seen in this teaser trailer. Hopefully another trailer will attempt that task.
Here’s a low quality leak of the teaser trailer, but it did the job for me. Yes I am a Star Trek nerd.
Front Page
You know, this kind of teaser just doesn’t do it for me. All they end up doing is making me pissed off b/c they show the teensiest glimpse (hence “teaser”) and some onscreen text. It’s like we didn’t even get to first base, but I want to swing for the fences and get to home plate baby!!!
But I guess that’s what a teaser is by definition…
Yep this is definitely the definition of tease. I guess I”m still a sucker for Spock’s voice and those iconic words.
Still pissed that there’s no Shat in this flick, yet!
Do people really call Shatner “Shat”? Cuz I just busted up laughing about that one…in a way it’s all too appropriate for him.
Uh… well I call him the Shat but I’m sure there are some others.

Cool. I’m normally not so big on scatalogical humor, but this one still has me grinning.
I liked the trailer and I really have no problem replacing the orginal cast if they can make a decent movie.
As for the Shat comment, did you happen to see Invasion Iowa? One of the things William Shatner was selling was color coded tams he called Shats.
