MacWorld Apple Rumor Round Up: 1/6/08
January 6th, 2008

Supposed Keynote transcripts are showing up at the MacRumors forums.
Keynote transcript one: Mac Nano (resdesigned Mac Mini with solid-state drives, Mac Pros with Penryn chips and Blu-Ray, an aluminum Mighty Mouse, and new cinema displays. The “one more thing” is a MacBook Nano.
Keynote transcript two: iPhone SDK, iTunes 8 with movie rentals and eBooks, Mac Pro with Blu-Ray, new cinema displays, new product that mergers Mac Mini and Apple TV, and a new “MacTouch” ultra portable / tablet.
Well, I think it’s safe to say both of these transcripts are fake, but decent educated guesses. I’m not seeing a Mac Nano, aluminum mouse, or eBooks, though.
Of passing interest are some fanboy mockups of what a “MacBook Touch” could look like. While cool, I can already hear screams of pain as screens are scratched on this fantasy product.
For more unannounced fantasy Apple products, check out this series of images at MacRumors. They all seem to have the ultra-wide trackpad fetish.
One may also get some hints of what Apple’s up to by the behavior of other companies.
- Multi-touch televisions at CES.
- NetFlix expanded their “Watch Now” streaming movies on demand service to be all-you-can-watch per month.
- Warner Brothers went Blu-Ray.
More rumors to come, I’m certain.
