I won't touch Vista until the first service pack -- as usual for a Windows upgrade -- but by that point it should be solid and I look forward to it.

I'd be the last one to deny the Apple faithful their giddies over the next release of OSX, but you gotta understand that people who use PCs don't necessarily find the Apple way all that attractive, which is why all those slow-to-adopt Vista customers are sticking with XP and not moving in droves to OSX.

To each his own.

I hear a lot of bad things about Vista but they said those same things about XP when it first came out...not sure since I haven't upgraded yet

Vista - a subtle disappointment? .. try a massive letdown ... a WOW withdrawal ... anything but something to look forward to using on a daily basis.

Microsoft dropped the ball on this and while I might seriously be considering backsliding to XP I wouldn't get overly excited and count this as a permanent mark against Microsoft. I have a sneaky suspicion about Windows 7 which for now I am keeping to myself but it might be what Vista should have been.
