The IT Crowd: Moss And The German
Season 2, Episode 3

More blunt skewering of social conventions as this episode deals with movie piracy and the anti smoking brigade, with some digs at homosexuals, Russians, Germans, gigantic home entertainment systems, and cannibals. Yeah, I’m not exactly sure how they crammed all that into one show either.
Roy’s friend “The Dominator” sees movies as soon as they come out and Roy is determined to not let knowledge of the “twist” ruin his film enjoyment. Meanwhile, Jen has problems finding a place to smoke outside. Ross gets involved with a hungry German.
We also learn a bit more about the boss from hell who is totally sleazy and slimy with his own sense of drama - a mutant combination of Oliver Platt, Ricky Gervais, and Faye Dunaway.
All in all, this episode wasn’t as funny as ones previous, but I still enjoyed it. I now want a “meh.” T-shirt.

Is this the one with the anti-piracy commercial at the beginning? That bit was freaking hilarious. I also much enjoyed the episode with the special new (overly long) emergency phone number.
Yep… the anti piracy bit was in this one. I think this was one of the best episodes of this season.
Why are British tv seasons only 6 episodes long… what’s up with that…
The 6 episode seasons crack me up. On the plus side it’s super easy to catch up to the current season if you need to go back and watch the first season.
On the downside, it’s not a lot of episodes to consume before you have to wait for the next batch!
I’m enjoying season 2 a lot. The first episode where they went to the musical was hilarious. I loved some of the jokes in that one. This episode, the cannibal one, was also very strong. Good stuff. I haven’t seen the remainder of season 2 yet. I’ll have to get watching soon.
