Just Upgraded To WordPress 2.3

September 27th, 2007

WordpressSo far, so good. A quick list of what I’ve noticed that’s new:

  • Plug-ins now have a notification bar that shows you there’s a new version available. I had about five that I needed to upgrade.
  • Drafts now appear in their own list area - definitely handy since I currently have 32 posts in various stages of disarray.
  • The visual editor has a a bar with some additional options.
  • Tags. Definitely looking forward to playing around with this one. For the past week I’ve been cleaning up messes in all my old posts in preparation for some hopefully useful tag action.
  • I did encounter one problem: while trying to save this post I got a pretty scary error. But of course, there is already information about why: An old version of Google Sitemaps Generator. The fact that this post is published is a first test to show that has been fixed.
  • My Site Map plug in was also producing errors, but an upgrade and a reset to default settings fixed that.
  • There are some import and export options.
  • Not sure what converting categories to tags means. Staying away from that for now.

So is it just me or does this blog seem faster? Please let me know if you see anything amiss.
