I own a popular Austin martial arts and self-defense school so I've heard a lot of feedback from students and parents. Now that the newest Karate Kid is out with Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith, all the kids are raving about it. We've had a huge influx of new students from the movie. What's interesting is that the majority of these kid's parents remark that they liked the original more. It's funny that those same parents were their children'a age when they saw the first Karate Kid! The subsequent Karate Kid movies were never as popular and well accepted as the original, until now.

Just as a hint as to how questionable both Part III and Part IV are - they came on one DVD (kind of a two for the price of one type deal) for the netflix rental.
