Ordered The New, Thin, Apple Keyboard

Apple Keyboard

AppleKind of a head scratcher here, but it seems none of the Apple stores near me have the new ultra thin Apple keyboards in stock yet. I went to the Burlingame store in person twice already and called the San Francisco one. So I just ordered one online, and the wait time is 3-5 business days.

As mentioned before, I really like the keyboard on my MacBook. The smaller layout, shorter vertical distance for the keys to travel, and the solid feel have totally grown on me, to where I prefer the MacBook keyboard to the extended, full size keyboard I’ve been using with our iMac.

But it looks like Apple changed more than just the design - on closer inspection, several keys are in different positions. Gizmodo has a good overview of the new keys on the keyboard and a comparison with the old one.

Disclosure: I own a tiny amount of Apple stock.

    Wired or wireless?

Wired - I’m planning on using it with our iMac. The wired one has the number pad, and is only 50 bucks, while the wireless one is 99.

Eventually I’ll be getting a new desktop, and I haven’t decided on a new iMac or a Mac Mini. I’m leaning in the Mac Mini direction.

I wonder if it will work with a PC? It’s USB. Maybe I’ll test it out.
