So… even in Washington DC I couldn’t completely escape blogging. I turned on the TV last night to see Casey Serin interviewed on some news program. I think it was an older interview.

Anyhow, it seems Mr. Serin has finally shut down the blog for good. According to my brother, the domain name transfer took place so I really hope this time is for real. Casey is really trying to revive his marriage and there were some pretty intense posts talking about how he has made so many mistakes in the past few years of his marriage.

Meanwhile, I’d say Casey Serin was a canary in the coal mine as the housing market has finally taken a turn for the worse. I’m sure we’ll see stories like this more and more common. Real estate will always be a decent investment but I think the speculation and flipping stuff was definitely excessive, and I’m glad to see it tempered somewhat - especially so us of saner minds may finally be able to afford a house.

It may not be any comfort to Casey but he may be an example to the future, when someone writes the book on the housing bubble crash of 2006.
