Just about everyone at the time of this movie’s release said this movie was terrible, but I don’t know. Maybe I just like bad movies. I thought it was great. It was so stupid that it was funny. Plus, it has Jennifer Gardner in it, so how can you not like it?!

The reason why I chose not to submit Sinbad of the Seven Seas was because I would have felt responsible for your comatose state after watching the first ten minutes of the show. Let me just say this: One of the character’s name is “Poochie the Dwarf.” Yeah. Ummm.. I am embarassed to admit it, but, er, well, I watched it twice. Once by myself and a second time with a friend just to see the look on his face when he watched my “favorite” movie with me.

Seriously, if you love watching those old B movies, this is a must see. And if you do end up watching it, my favorite line in the whole movie is: “Gosh, you’re beautiful.” Yeah, you gotta watch it to see what I mean.

I have some theories about why he chose The Machinist and why he tortured himself for it (suffering for his art, etc.), but don’t want to turn this thread into The Christian Bale Show. You’re right, though Rob — when he misses he misses by a mile.

I’m willing to watch it again through the bad / good filter, and I’m not sure if the fact I thought it was a fair rental means it’s a better bad movie or a worse one…

As for Christian Bale, he’s a pretty awesome actor (I’d like to see the new Herzog film) but I agree with Rob O. that his choices have been rather “huh?” inducing.

And “Harsh Times?” What a waste!

Okay, okay, sure he was awesome in “Batman Begins” — the best Batman since Keaton. And “Reign of Fire” was incredible — although that’s as much for McConaughey’s snarling, post-Apocalyptic, mountain-man. And “The Prestige” was excellent throughout.

So, Bale is certainly more hit than miss…
