Battlestar Galactica: Yep, Season 4 Is The Last

June 1st, 2007

Battlestar GalacticaAfter getting all the fraks out of the way, this does make the most sense for the story. This was rumored a few weeks ago when Edward Olmos let it slip, but now the word is coming directly from the show’s producers: Season 4 will be the last for Battlestar Galactica.

At least now that the end is clearly in sight, we have all the big answers to look forward to, namely finding Earth, explaining all the Cylon prophecy final five hybrid baby mumbo jumbo, and whether or not Baltar is completely delusional.

Season Four’s 22 episodes are slated to begin airing in early 2008.

This might be the best thing that could happen for the series. The worst way a show can disappear is from disinterest. If the story arc is allowed to end naturally, we should be treated to a few more great episodes yet.

Agreed. The more I think about it, this might really free the show up to tackle all the larger issues that haven’t been resolved yet, because there would always be that next episode. But now, characters can die. Secrets can be revealed. Conflict can come to a head. The mind reels at the possibilties.

The worst thing they could do is try to keep the series going after they find Earth. I remember it got completely stupid when they did that on the first series.
