The mid nineties was truly depressing for Apple. I nearly bought a PC as well but for some reason I got a used 7100 (?). I've flirted with getting a cheap PC ever since. Now that flirtation is with installing XP on the MacBook since in terms of hardware it is a PC...

But now there's definitely the feeling that Apple is on the up and up and it's fun to be on an updward trend after the years of wondering if / when to jump ship. Google is also making it easier to get off the MSFT train.

We'll see how well the Mac runs StarCraft 2 though. The game selection is still rather poor.

Heh. I like Windows best when it's my rarely used alternate OS via Bootcamp ;-)

I'm in the same camp as you Jase. The only time I attempted a switch was at the low, low point in the mid 90s. I bought a Toshiba laptop (though I still had a Mac desktop). Fortunately (or unfortunately depending on you viewpoint), my experience with the Toshiba was less than stellar and by the time I was shopping around for its replacement Steve Jobs had returned and things were on the up and up.

My latest project is switching off of Microsoft software for good. I'm finding Google Docs acceptable for a lot of lightweight word processing so far. And IE has long since been jettisioned except for the requisite browser compatibility testing. So...who knows...an MS free existence has never been more obtainable.

Well, biased in the sense just that I have owned Apple products all my life, although I nearly switched over in the mid nineties.

My one big piece of objectivity however, is that I use a PC at work even though many use Macs. I like PCs at work and Macs at home.

Sorry to point it out, but on top of engtech's problem, the link about Google and Feedburner is really one to Google Reader!

How biased are you, by the way?!
