Season 7, Episode 22

Gilmore Girls: Bon Voyage

Okay.

That was a fairly depressing season / series finale.

The only excuse I can figure is that the series was canceled after the episode was filmed, leaving the writers the thankless task of writing both a season finale that set the stage for another season, and a possible series ending. That’s a tall order. But it was much more successful at the former, leading me to believe the stories that nobody thought this series was going to be canceled until recently.

My main gripe is that it was sloppy. Certain plot threads were tied up too neatly without any consideration, while others were totally left hanging. And in terms of an emotional conclusion to the series, there was little offered.
