Webomatica Contest: Write The 2,000th Comment

Yeah it kind of scares me too, but Webomatica is nearing 2,000 approved comments, including trackbacks. I think that’s worth celebrating — as I’m not going to celebrate Akismet blocking spam number 10,000.
I want to encourage friendly comments on this blog, so just continue with business as usual, but whomever leaves comment number 2,000 (meaning, either a trackback or comment on any post of this blog) will get a friendly email from me with a prize — I’m thinking a $20 iTunes gift certificate. That value of $20.00 is similar to comment number 2,000. If it’s okay with the winner, I’ll post some info promoting their blog or website.
So here are the guidelines:
- Comment on any post on this blog.
- Trackbacks count, too.
- Please don’t spam.
- Make sure you fill out a legitimate email address so I can contact you. Email addresses aren’t shown publicly; only to me.
I’m not divulging the number of comments I’m at right now — just know the number is within striking distance and based on the past, I estimate it will be hit sometime today… within the next week or so.
So… plz comment!
Did I win?!?!?!
Mine is number 2003
Uh… truth be told, I accidentally published this post before I really wanted to, so there’s a ways to go before this hapless blog hits 2000. But thanks for contributing to the cause.
I might not win the prize for the 2,000 comment but I’m already a winner since finding out Jason Calacanis is taking a month off from blogging
Ha ha, I saw that about Jason C. too (I think on Twitter). I wonder if someone will use this as an opportunity to re-raise the A list / Z list blogging thing?
that would probably raise him from his 30 day vacation around the world LOL
i win, where is my prize?
where is my $20 iTunes gift certificate?
Uh… sorry no winner yet. Still several comments away.
Hey — an iTunes gift certificate? I can’t think of a more appropriate prize from you! Keep up the great work and good luck to all who comment. Who will be the magic number 2000?
I love threads like these.
At this rate the winner looks to be a toss up between a regular reader and a random Joost Invite reqeuster.
[…] Jason is running a contest to give a $20 gift card to iTunes to the poster of the 2,000th comment on his site. Using that model, I’m offering $1 to the poster of comment 100 on mine. Have at it. […]
Sorry no winners yet… getting closer (obviously).
That will be funny… a Joost invite requester
lisa at “hi@aol.com” just made the prize that much closer.
It would have been great if I’d won via my trackback. Alas.
Man, getting so close… that I think tomorrow sometime someone will win.
