Thanks To Guest Bloggers, Less Is More

April 2nd, 2007

In a sense, this is the second half of my earlier, Blogging Is Bizarre post.

About two weeks ago, about to go on vacation, I wasn’t sure if I’d have Internet access abroad, and even if so (turned out I did) I didn’t know how motivated I’d be to write (turned out not much), so I put out a call for “guest bloggers” to fill in while away.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that pretty much everyone I tapped was willing to fill in, including some volunteers that arrived unsolicited. At week’s end, I actually had one too many guest blog posts. I’ll publish the last few this week.

I was really pleased by the quality and variety of the posts, some of which had an association with the vacation destination itself. It was like reading about a life experience as you were living it.

So, here’s a final thanks plus links to the guest posts and the writer’s blogs and websites:

To sum up, I’m always surprised to find that people actually read this blog and even more so when they’re willing to help out with suggestions or participation. I had a blast reading these posts and publishing them – it was fun each time I opened up my mailbox.

So about “less is more”: well, while away I thought a bit about blogging and how much time I’ve been spending jacked into the net and decided it’s been a tad excessive. Maybe all bloggers go through this, but I’m going to try a different approach which is basically dropping down to two posts a day. I’ll post more often when events dictate it. I’ll focus more on quality and insight than chasing the latest news event.

One daily post will be technology related and time sensitive, while the other will be under the banner of one of my other, less time sensitive subjects, be it movies, music, books, etc.
