More Japan Notes
So: not much time to post, but at present we’re leaving Tokyo for Hakone to stay in a traditional Japanese ryokan. This means, no Internet, although I’m assured there’s running water. I pray there are some Western-style toilets as I’ve avoided the trough variety up until this point.
After that we go to Kyoto which will hopefully mean I can post again and get some pictures up.
Yesterday we went to Ueno park again, to check out the museums, walked through some neighborhoods, ate tons of sushi and pastry, experimented with vending machines, and I took pictures of cats.
Hakone is great.
We took what looked like a bullet train from Tokyo but we were lucky if it got above 35 mph for some reason.
If you get a chance, you should ride the cable cars & one of the boats.
