Some YouTube Rally Thing

February 19th, 2007

This event is worth mentioning since it happened at Pier 39 (I know, it’s cheesy) in San Francisco, right across the street from where I work. It was some gathering of YouTube video bloggers, and of course, they video blogged themselves meeting the other video bloggers and it will surely all go up on YouTube (check out ChristopherMast’s page), forming a video blogging echo-chamber not unlike Infinite Cat.

Video blogging is definitely not something I’d ever do myself, as I’m camera shy. Talking about tech is best left to seasoned professionals like Leo Laporte, and a talking video about tech is already owned by Diggnation. I think the only video blog I’d ever vaguely consider doing is one involving our cats.

I personally haven’t watched many YouTube video blogs but maybe it’d be worth checking out. After all, some of the folks in these videos were the People of the Year and therefore the future of entertainment. We all better get used to it.

Meanwhile, check out the beautiful San Francisco weather.

  • I've found most of the video blogs I've seen on YouTube cringeworthy...

Not really into the video blogging thing, you can't skim.
  • Well I'm usually game for anything webby related, especially if it's free. I think I'll check some out this week.

I hear you about the not-skimmable thng though, I tried watching one of Scoble's scoble show videos, specifically the one about Vista vs Mac Osx. Man that was long. I didn't get through the whole thing. I think it was like - two hours!
