Link Sharing: 2/15/07
This is my handy way to highlight some stuff that doesn’t deserve a full blog post, but I still found amusing or interesting. So every Thursday I plan on doing a more “list style” post featuring links to stuff I’ve collected during the week, hopefully at least five fun links.
Cats hosted by Knitemare: This link came to me from Tamar. I have no idea what its purpose is other than to highlight strange cat photos. I had to refrain from reading it because I was laughing so hard. Visit at your own risk. My favorites are invisible bike.
Top Ten Real Life Games at ilkeryoldas: Real people acting out popular videogames. Is there a Katamari one out there?
Note: Yeah, of course there is. You can find anything on the internets. //engtech offers up this site.Â
Google News Denied Belgian Newspapers: So while we have all the SEO dudes trying to help people get indexed and ranked in Google, meanwhile the Belgian newspapers are determined to not be ranked and establish the page rank of 0. I just don’t get it.
Illinois Newspapers Want To Ban Access To Social Networks: Whatever. I don’t get this either. Too many Top Ten Hot Apple Chicks Eat Zunes on digg? And just today, Ted Stevens, senator of tubes, singles out Wikipedia.
Mark Cuban at Blog Maverick does a brain dump, speculating about the future of computing. I think he’s wise to note that the biggest element pushing people to upgrade in the past was gaming, and that has largely been taken over by consoles today. So it seems all that’s really making upgrading a computer appealing is a new operating system like Vista, and we all know how that’s going.
Parislemon posts about the new dollar coins: They will feature the faces of past Presidents. This story made the digg front page. I’ve been collecting all the state quarters, so I’m looking forward to this, even if some of the Presidents look kind of smashed and odd.
MyCatBlogLog: In case you missed it I’m playing around with MyBlogLog cat avatars. The idea for this experiment is largely due to //engtech and by a sideways reference, Robert Scoble.
Google Watch: I forget how I found this site, but it’s written by someone who really doesn’t like Google. Reading this will either make you feel paranoid or shake your head in disbelief at how the internet attracts loners and iconoclasts like moths.
