Link Sharing: 2/8/07
This is my handy way to highlight some stuff that doesn’t deserve a full blog post, but I still found amusing or interesting. So every Thursday I plan on doing a more “list style” post featuring links to stuff I’ve collected during the week, hopefully at least five fun links.
Cat Town: I laughed so hard at this one, my cats thought I was having a heart attack. I think I was mostly laughing at myself, because I’m sure whomever made this site did it in about an hour - as compared to my daily brain-dumping blogging - and has fifty ka-billion times as many links as me.
I Hate Macs: A British fellow writes down some of the usual reasons why Mac lovers are tiresome - but the real funny part is in the comments. I must say - compare the comments at the Guardian and any comment thread on YouTube and it’s like - wow, complete sentences!
TechCrunch Profiles Go2Web20: Mike Arrington profiles a website (nothing interesting about that) but the comments are filled with speculation about Arrington’s relationship to the site owner, who supposedly goes on digg as “webtech” and diggs Mike Arrington’s TechCrunch stories (a past romantic relationship is speculated) - well, it’s all pretty silly, but you might get a laugh out it.
Don’t Click It: This is a well-designed Flash site that suggests there might be a better method of navigation than clicking a mouse. I dunno, even though I eventually figured out how rolling over stuff could get me around this site, everything felt like a big “maybe.” Clicking is a definite, physical statement that you want to do something. It’s pressing a button, essentially. Maybe I’m just trained from over twenty years of clicking a mouse, but it’s worth checking out.
Some Webomatica blog related stats for whomever’s keeping track (besides me):
Total Webomatica Spam Comments Obliterated: 1,762
Technorati Rank: 32,538 :: 106 blogs linking in :: “B” list blogger
Blog Worth Evaluator: $50,808.60
Number of Times I Thought About Giving Up On Blogging This Week: 1
Rude Comments Aimed In My General Direction: 2 (one sarcastic)
