MyBlogLog “Hacks” from SoloSEO
Check out this list of “Missing MyBlogLog Tools” at SoloSEO. I found this site via Cornwallseo.com. These tools let you compare who’s in your community with another, find common members or uncommon members (helping you identify potential new members who might be interested in your blog), find who’s in your community that isn’t listed as a contact (so you can add them), and list more past visitors than just ten.
I must say, the rate of new users signing up for MyBlogLog since I started (which was late) is huge. I can’t even keep track of all the new folks showing up. But I’m still really liking it, especially because it gets me to check out other blogs and websites when I’d rather just hide in my feed reader.
One tip I’ve noticed: Go into Edit Settings and under Short Description, fill it with the keywords for your blog, separated by comma. I’m pretty sure that’s what is being used when one types a keyword in the “search” box at the top of the MyBlogLog page, and pulls up the communites matching the keyword.
So the funny thing is I have a lot of members that joined up in my community based on technology, but if you search for “television” I show up on the top of the list. That’s not really cheating since I do cover a few TV shows. (but please don’t do the obvious - keyword stuffing your short description with things that have nothing to do with your blog).
Note: I’m the only blog for bottle caps. Oh yeah!
Note: Ah, it seems like MyBlogLog isn’t listing communities in search results by number of members anymore - they’re listed alphabetically. So please disregard my “Short Description” information.
Here’s a hack at ShoeMoney. I’m sure this will only get more interesting as MyBlogLog becomes more popular.
