So I was sitting in the dentist’s chair watching the Super Bowl and the commercial for GoDaddy.com came on. They’re a domain / webhosting company, and the ad was pretty basic until the talking suit guy opened the door on “marketing,” where in true Super Bowl beer ad form, were a bunch of cute girls partying and… Kevin Rose and Alex Albrecht… the beer-drinking dudes of Diggnation. Oh yeah, and Kevin Rose is a founder of Digg.

The clip ends with women getting showered with champagne in GoDaddy t-shirts… yeah, real subtle there, but hey this is the Super Bowl… in order to get beyond the beer, nachos, and salsa you have to pour on the charm.

Well, I thought it was pretty cool, although most of the folks rooting for the Bears or the Colts probably wouldn’t recognize them (unless they read BusinessWeek…).

I just hope this little cameo won’t be remembered like the sock puppet Super Bowl ad a few years from now. But until then, good times!
