Film In America

January 19th, 2007

My observation that A View To A Kill had many scenes filmed in San Francisco prompted a co-worker to send me a link to this site: Film In America. It’s basically a place where you browse by location to find movies that have scenes that were filmed there.

The site is admittedly rather old-school in its design (a search function would be nice), but the meat is the information. Here’s their list of movies filmed in San Francisco, and here’s a personal favorite: Star Trek IV.

Anyhow the site covers (or intends to, as there are blank areas) all of the states, so look up your favorite locale.

this seems redundant as most movies are shot in america anyway ??

it’s interesting how few films are shot in hawaii though…

Yeah that is true — but this site is for drilling down and identifying films that are done in your specific location, so you can recognize the landmarks and scenery.

Hawaii — might just be a matter of logistics!
