Apple’s Ominous Website Graphic

Apple Personally, the dark Apple logo with light coming from behind on Apple’s website reminds me of 2001: A Space Odyssey. What could it possibly mean? Will there be some amazing products in 2007 that blow everyone away and represents a computing paradigm shift?

Here are some possible things that might come about in 2007:

1. Leopard. Maybe the next version of OS X has some secret stuff that will amaze everyone. Some truly awesome stuff might be voice recognition technology, a new UI, or iTunes for DVDs (rip, mix, burn).

2. iTV. This entertainment center “bridge” from the home PC might have some additional capabilities: video games, YouTube streaming, web browsing.

3. iPhone. Cellphone done Apple style. As I’ve said many times before, I hope they add Apple ease-of-use to the crazy contracts.

4. “True” Video iPod. Meaning, the larger screen, touch sensitive iPod.

5. Tablet Mac. It could be a MacBook with a reversible screen, or a monitor that detaches from its base that you carry around.

6. Wireless iPod. Lots of speculation on what this might entail. Maybe if not music sharing, how about an iPod that streams music to an iTV, or be used as a remote control.

I’m just dreaming. I’m sure no matter what, 2007 will be an awesome year for Apple.
