Shoutwire Fun

December 30th, 2006

TechnologyThere’s this social news site, Shoutwire which I sometimes submit blog posts to, and it seems this Sesame Street post just hit their front page. It will be amusing to see how much traffic results from this as opposed to digg.

Shoutwire

So far, it’s been a steady stream, not an impending tidal wave, which is better as it hasn’t taken down my site (yet). However, I also have installed the WP-Cache plug-in which seems to be holding up very nicely.

Anyhow, a nice way to ring in the new year - a website on the edge of potential destruction.

Update: Seems that Shoutwire also supplies their front page news to torrentspy.com, so I’m getting some traffic from there, too. Overall, it looks like the traffic has quadrupled from my usual daily number. Hits are still coming in. It seems stories don’t fall off of the front page of Shoutwire as quickly as they do on digg. Here are some more observations and differences.
